    Hi, if I'm making the transition from bench pressing with a regular bar to a Swiss bar, will I have to reduce the weight and if so, by how much? Also, is the narrow grip more difficult than the wider grip?

    • @bsmitley
      @bsmitley 5 днів тому

      @ryokan9120 thanks for the question. But yes, you'll need to decrease the weight. On average, between myself and clients, I've seen a decrease anywhere from 10-15% be pretty normal. The closer grip handles will for sure be more difficult since they make the movement even more tricep dominant. Hope that helps!

      @ryokan9120 you're welcome, and I totally get it. However, chances are when you go back to a regular bench you'll be stronger than you think. I pretty much only bench with a Swiss Bar now, and my strength has still stayed within 3-5% of my best.

    Hey brandon, love your video explaining it. Quick question, i practice bjj about 4 days week. I am trying to gear this more towards hypertrophy at least for like a 3-4 month block. My question is how do i progressively overload for that block. Do i add volume each week ?

    • @bsmitley
      @bsmitley Місяць тому

      Thanks for the question. My suggestion would be to use high rep DB and back work. I would progress that volume on the same accessories for your full wave before swapping exercises. For example on DB Bench and Chest Supported DB Rows: Wk 1 - 3x12 Wk 2 - 3x15 Wk 3 - 4x12-15 Wk 4 - 4x15-20 Likey the same weight each week, but aiming to get more reps each session. This would yield about a double in training volume in a month...and you could do this with several exercises if needed.

    Fantastic video! Inspired my purchase of a 2004 with 26k miles. Like you said, it's FAST! I know you said, you're not a mechanic or Viper expert, but I do have a question that you can answer from your own experience. My 2004 clicks and creaks when I'm backing up or pulling into my uneven parking space while turning the steering wheel. Not when I'm driving on the road, etc. I've been told Gen3 Vipers have so much power and steering flex during low speed steering on bumpy ground, that it's normal and common. Have you personally ever heard noises while parking or steering over driveway or parking lot entrances? Thank you for sharing your amazing video:))) I love my 2004 Viper too!!!
